  1. cos^2(y)sin^2(x) + sin^2(y)sin^2(x) + cos^2(y)cos^2(x) + sin^2(y)cos^2(x)

    = (cos^2(y) + sin^2(y)) * (sin^2(x) + cos^2(x))

    = 1 * 1

    = 1
