  1. u need to find x first of all by using x= -b±√d divided by 2

    d= b^2-4ac

    d=6^2-4(1)(16)

    d=36-64

    d=(-28)

    This parabola has not solution because there's not square root of a negative number. If you find a imaginary solution you have

    √7*√-1 or i*√4

    4i√7

    go back to the quadratic formula

    -6±4i√7

    -----------

       2

    or negative 6 plus/minus 4i square root of 7 divided by 2. this parabola only has imaginary solutions.

    The axis of symmetry is

    x=-b/2(a)

    x=-6/2

    x= -3

    thats where the axis of symmetry is. The parabola opens upwards and it has  no zeros.

  2. axis of symmetry is through the vertex

    so the x xcoordinate  of symmetry is found by x = -b/2a

    = -6/2*1

    -3

    so axis of symmetry is where x=-3 a vertical line.
