Help with Research paper on Gangs!! ?

Question

So, I'm a Criminal Justice student who's taking a Prison and Street Gangs class. I have to write a 5-9 page research paper.

The assignment :"Must cover some aspect of gangs. A particular gang, gang member, gang activity, etch. Do not pick an overly broad topic such as the Bloods or Gang Crime, or one that is so narrow you cannot find enough sources."

So, my question is... Does anyone have any suggestions as to what my paper should be over? Like it says, nothing to common, but nothing so small that I can't make at least 5 pages out of it!!

A good topic would be which area are gangs found in cities. You could discuss why they are found they and the similarities between cities and the existence of gangs in the slums, less developed areas etc
