For some a part of my english coursework I have to consider Friar Lawrence's comments on fate in act 2 scene 6, is 'these violent delights have violent ends' (Line 9) the right quotation to be looking at? Help, its due in next week! Thank you!

  1. yes, i studied romeo an juliet my freshman year. your quote is defiantly about fate. all you have to do is think about it in real time. think about it. violent delights, could mean a drug addict which could end in a violent end like od. in romeo and juliet's case, their violent delight was their love for each other. and their violent end was death because they couldn't live without each other. their fate was to live together forever. the druggie's case would be to live off drugs and mooch off people for the rest of their lives..think about it...hope it helps.
