Question:

Help with Scottrade?

I realize that scottrade charges $7 commission to buy stock. Lets say I buy 10 shares at $7 apiece, which is $70. Scottrade tacks on $7 more. I would be paying $77 total, right? Is there any other hidden fees?

Is it a flat $7 rate if I buy 1 stock, or 100?

What if I buy 50 stock from one company, and 50 from another? Would that be $14 or $7?

Do they charge commission to sell a stock?

The minimum account balance is $500. What exactly does this mean? Does it mean I can use the entire $500 to buy stocks, or does it mean if I have $1000 as a balance, I can only use $500 to buy stock?

Thanks
