Help with Sidekick and USB cord!?

Question

i just got the sidekick and plugged in the phone with the cord and it comes up in my computer as 512M CARD (E:) when i click on it it has to folders, DCIM and Music, i have dragged mp3 files into the music folder and have unplugged and replugged it in and its still there, it just doesnt download to the phone, when i go to the phones media player it says "USB inserted. Card contents not available." what am i doing wrong? how do i get my computers music onto the phone? and i do have a memory card in the phone.
