Help with Sims 2, going out to Downtown.?

New Sims 2 player here, question about going out to eat in Downtown.

I understand when you visit a restaurant, you click on the host to be seated, then you click on the water/waitress to place your order.

It gives me the option to order for me or for everyone, I just try to order for me, and the icon just sits in the top left of my screen after I order, they NEVER bring my order.

Not sure what I am doing wrong here. Should I let the others order first? Am I supposed to order for all of us?

Any advice is appreciated.

I haven't played for a while, but i think that what you had to do was, after you get the menu, either click on the waiter again or yourself to choose what to eat.

Everyone at the table has to order before the food is brought out. So you can order a meal for yourself but you also have to click on everyone else and order meals for them.

After your click place order does it come up with a menu like what meal you want? It sounds like you have a bug and since Night Life is an older expansion its easy to get the update. I will give the link below. Sometime the game just does silly stuff and this will hopefully fix it for you.

Just find the patch you need for your version of the sims2 find the one for Nightlife or if you have a newer expansion than that, patch that version instead.
