Help with Sky Tv?

Hey all, my dad is being a total d**k about sky TV. I'm 21 (and no I can't just move out!) we have a conservatory and two TV’s in the house. My dad works in Aberdeen and we live down near Dundee. He sometimes lives in Aberdeen to save commuting every day. My parents got a flat as a crash pad for him. The flat has a sky dish and all the wiring for sky TV. I just need the set top box. Can anyone tell me if you can take a sky dish from one house to another and just get sky to install the dish and box (WITHOUT drilling holes in the side of your house - this is my dad's problem he doesn’t like drilling holes in the walls of the house! I am happy to pay for the sky!)

Sorry if that’s a bit jumbled and hard to understand. Just someone bloody help! Please!

  1. No you can't take down the dish. I had SKY installed at my mum's house when I lived at home and when I moved and wanted to transfer my account they came and put a new dish up at my new place and left the old dish at my mum's. She's a bit like your dad and wanted them to take it down but they said they don't do that, they leave them up wherever they have installed them so when someone else moves in all they've got to do is link it up to their SKY box. Basically it means that eventually every house will have a dish, like it or not! It's all part of going digital!

  2. well personally i'd just drill the holes as they plug em anyway and if your moving the set top box you wont need a new one but you will need a new sky dish as the old one stays on the flat but if the box moves so does the account but if you need a new box that will require a seperate account. other than that it will either be drilling through window casing or passing through window but sky maynot be able to do this as they have to secure the cable so it dont move which it could do if just stuck through a window.

  3. NO MORE NAILS instand bond exterior is pretty good.. about £12.99 from B&Q..

feed in the cable through a window or vent.

    THAT MIGHT DO IT

  4. take the wire thro a window frame, you'll need to get another set top box, and a seperate account i belive,

  5. You have to make some kind of hole in the house to get the dish cable from the outside to the inside!
