Question:

Help with Speeches?

Hi,

Can anyone please help me and tell me what order do the speeches go in? My father passed when I was younger, so my mother will be saying a toast. Is it best man, MOH, then my mother? Also, I heard me and my future husband should make a speech too, when should this go?

  1. I think it depends on what you want, but a lot of the times the coordinator at the reception hall will be able to tell you.

At my cousin's wedding, the father of the bride went first, followed by the best man, and then the maid of honor.

I think the bride and groom traditionally make a toast at the rehearsal dinner, not the wedding itself. But of course, if you want to say something at the wedding, do it! You're the bride!

  2. i guess it depends.

sometimes the parent goes first to welcome all the guests, followed by the best man and MOH.

for my wedding my dad had a surprise for me, so it was best man, MOH then my dad.

whatever works best for you.  but i believe traditionally the parent goes first.

    good luck and congrats!
