Question:

Help with Towel Stains?

Our towels are relatively new, almost 4 months now, and they are a medium blue color. Recently I started noticing a yellow-whitish stain on the one I use. The next week, the other towel that my sister uses had one. We`ve washed them and dried them to no avail of removing the stain. At first I thought it was deoderent rubbing off on it. Is so how would I get it out? Would chlorox2 work? I`ve looked at other questions regarding stains on towels and some have said it was bleach. but both of us never get bleach anywhere near the towels. We both use Vive pro shampoo and conditioner and my sister uses an acne face wash but I don`t think those are the problem since wouldn`t it get the stain on the washcloths? (the washcloths are fine, unstained)

  1. sounds like bleach got to them

  2. This is possible that the acne face wash came in contact with the towels as peroxide can take the color out of the towels, if this is the case then washing them will do no good and therefore the towels could be ruined, however you can try washing them in one cup of White Vinegar no detergent added to this method full cycle and wash warm water only before washing in vinegar pretreat the stains with White Vinegar and leave for a few hours then wash with the cup of vinegar Good Luck !

  3. Do you use whitening toothpaste?  These can bleach coloured towels and it is easy to get them on them when you wipe your face after cleaning your teeth.

  4. Is it possible the the towels may have come into contact with other household cleaners?  You can try the chlorox2, but if they've been altered chemically then there is probably nothing you can do to fix it.
