  1. i may not fully understand your question but it sounds like you want vista, and believe me when i say you DO NOT want vista. XP is so way better, smoother, everything

  2. If you scroll down to system requirements it tells you the only supported OS is windows vista.

  3. A standalone service pack is meant for network admins that admin several machines and need to distribute the service pack without having to go to each machine and do the windows update method.

That said, nothing will happen, it will download just fine and then you can either transfer the service pack through your network to your vista machines or use some means of removable storage to move the service pack from pc to pc.

If you are trying to get vista by downloading this then no, it isnt the operating system but rather a service pack meant for those who already have vista.

To those who think windows vista sucks......you are noobs and have no idea what you are talking about.

  4. My son (who knows a whole lot more about this than I do) told me that Windows will no longer offer support for Windows XP, and will be phasing it out. He also told me that Vista has come out with a newer service pack, that you run when you've already got Vista installed. You have to buy Vista first, before you can install the service pack. That's my understanding. I just got a new computer last October and it came with Vista. I wanted to keep my XP, so my son took Vista off, and installed XP. Now I get the bad news about XP, but my son assured me that the new service pack updates the original Vista. Let's hope so, or all us XP'ers are up a creek! <*)))><

  5. No no no no NO! Don't do it! Vista sucks!

Uh, well no actually it rocks. But games never work on it. Other wise it's very fast and awesome.

Sorry I didn't go to the site, so this is a pointless answer. In a hurry right now. xP

  6. you cant download the service pack for windows vista and have vista,,,

you need to go to the store and buy windows vista home basic (or whichever version you prefer)

i suggest using the program microsoft offers for download to check all parts of your computer for compatability with Vista
