Help with Wii Console?

ok i just got a wii and i got it set up with internet. it says i need an ugrade and it says

IMPORTANT: If you do not wish to accept this upgrade turn off.......

Then. If your wii console has an unauthorized techinal modification, this upgrade could cause inoperability of your console.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

What will happen if i accept? and does it cost?

Wii upgrades are free :-)

If you accept the wii will update and results will depend on which upgrade it's doing.  If you don't upgrade the wii will keep asking the same thing over and over when you connect to the internet.

The information about unauthorized technical modifications is to inform those who have had their wii's chipped that if they update their wii might not work anymore.

If you haven't had your wii chipped you have nothing to worry about with the upgrade, if you have, well, it's up to you whether you take the chance or not ;-)

If you accept it upgrades itself. It does not cost. I tried not accepting it and it restarted and asked again so I just accepted and it updated within seconds.

The unauthorized techinal modification just means that if you have chipped or modded your Wii in any way the upgrade could leave you with a console that won't work. If you bought it new from a shop you don't need to worry about that
