Question:

Help with a UNIX shell account?

So when I make a shell account, it won't let me write a password...

I would write in my new user name, but when I get to the password part, I can't type anything with the keyboard, not even numbers, all I can do is hit enter and then, of course, the password doesn't work...

*sigh* Does anyone know why that happens?

Please help, I use either this website: http://sdf.lonestar.org/index.cgi?telnet

Or telnet to sdf.lonestar.org (start > run > type in telnet sdf.lonestar.org)...does it work for anyone else?

  1. I think telnet does not show you even asterisks the "*" symbol when you type in your password.  Did you try and type your password in and hit enter?  Also why are using telnet(for education?) you should really be using ssh.
