Im making a baby cardigan and im up to the sleeve itsays to work foundation in dc fabric which is fine but to increase 1 st at the end of the next 3 rows. (how am i sopose to inc 1 st at the end?) then on foll 8 alt row, then on 2 foll 3rd rows. work 2 rows.

I dont get what it means by alternating and the bit after that where it says then on 2 follow 3rd rows and what does it mean at the end saying work 2 rows.

this had become confusing can someone please help me.

thank you

  1. are you sure it says to only increase at the end of the row - normally you increase at EACH end of rows for sleeves.  Reread instructions to make sure.

to inc at the end you just work 2 sts in the one st. at the end.

foll 8 alt rows - inc on every alt (2nd) row for 8 times - you will have worked 16 rows.

2 foll 3rd rows - presume that you need to inc on 3rd row s(twice) meaning working 6 rows altogether.

then work 2 rows straight at end of all this shaping.

If this is actually how the pattern instructions really read then it is a badly written pattern.  Read the pattern again to make sure that you didn't misread anything.
