Question:

Help with a duckling?

Two days ago I rescued a duckling from two children who had been roughing it up, playing with it like a Barbie doll and strangling it in the process. It survived, but now that it's in my care I realize I don't know if I'm giving it everything it needs. I don't even know its breed. I don't want it to die, so does anyone perhaps know how to care for it?

  1. Just go to these sites

    www.wikihow.com/Take-Care-of-Ducklings

  2. Take the duckling to a nearby animal shelter, or call the nearest one.  They have contacts with wildlife officials who would be able to care for the duckling until it can be released into the wild again.

  3. are you planning on keeping it or just nursing it back to health?

    but anyhoo

i had two baby ducks.. and they were very easy to care for but they did need a lot of attention... i kept them in the house to for a while until i could get a sleeping area built outside and until they were old enough, and until i was sure there were no raccoons or possums... but anyhoo i got them in a fenced area in my house which was always pretty warm and at night i turned on a lamp for them... they also had old shirts to curl up in. during feeding make sure that you have a good source of water, i fed them with a duck feed which i got from the farm feed store (also the people at the feed store can help you alot with what to do and how to care for ducks) and they drink alot of water with their meals, so make sure the water dish is deep. they also make a big mess when they eat so make sure you clean up afterwards to keep their home clean and change out the water to keep them from getting sick... also everyday i let them go swimming in a little tub in the bathroom, to clean themselves and excercise... it was always the cutest thing...

    good luck with your ducks...

ive given you the link to a website that might be able to help you untl you get to the feed store
