Help with a dvr?

is there a dvr out there in which i dotn have to pay a monthy bill to have its just i buy it and use it withought monthly payments. thank you

There are plenty of DVRs that work without a subscription service.  But, you will have to set it to record everything manually.  TIVO requires the subscription to get the guide info that tells you what is on TV.  Without this, it will not be able to record all shows of a series (sometimes called a season pass).  If you don't need this feature, then just get a regular DVR and program it to record like a VCR.
