Question:

Help with a first tattoo?

I'm 15 and have full consent from my parents to get a tattoo. Knowing me, it'll take a while to find the right parlor and design, so I could use any help you could possibly give me.

I'd love it if someone who actually has experience in this area could give advice (if you're a tattoo artist, or have a tattoo).

I was thinking about either getting it on the back of my shoulder, the back of my neck, or on my lower back. I have no idea of what kind of design I want, or the theme or anything, really. I was thinking something musical, maybe. Or a pentacle, because I'm wiccan.

I'm also terrified of pain. Seriously. It took me forever to get my ears pierced (I did it last year). But I wanted to wear earrings soooo badly that my will power finally won out. So I have a feeling that my will power will pull through for me again this time.

I'm just asking for any advice you could give. Questions to ask to make sure that the artist is legit and trustworthy. Design ideas. Anything unique is welcome. I'm a crazy *** ***** so go ahead and through wacky things my way!

  1. I really don't think anyone is going to give you your idea of an awesome tattoo that you want on your body for the rest of your life, unless you don't want something personal or very original...

I'll give it my best though.

Leaves in the fall looking like they're falling from a tree. It may sound weird, but I've seen it before.. and it's beautiful. Then again, it depends on the person you are.

A bird flying holding different types of flowers. Every flower signifies something different.

An awesome design that you could stare at for a few minutes without getting bored. I've seen it before.

  2. my mum is a tattoo artist, for almost 30 yrs now, so i can give u some advice if u like..

    i got my first ink at 16 and 6 more b4 i was 18.

tattoos hurt the most on thin skin, bone/muscle and hurt least on fatty areas.

so ribs, spine and ankles hurt more then butt or lower back..

on your shoulder blade u will def feel the pain, as its bone and muscle there, mine really hurt when i got it in this spot, but everyone is different. back of your neck has many nerves, so that tingles a tad.. i think out of all my tattoos, speaking from a heavily inked woman... the lower back hurt the least. i could bearly feel it, it was like someone was drawing on me with a pen, but pushing down hard.. no matter where u get ur tattoo its gonna hurt, despite what everyone says about not feeling it, trust me u feel it. but its nothing to panic about :)

and for anyone who calls a lower back tattoo a tramp stamp, they can go to he.ll, its the 21st century, that term offends people.

As long as the tattoo has meaning to you hun, i dont think u can go wrong, think carefully about your choice though, as u will obviously have it forever. :)

if u think u can deal with the pain of tattooing, then go for it. but u must keep in mind, once they start, its not a good idea to stop, as u will have half a tattoo etc.

As for designs i really like the idea of a penticle..

tribal designs are very attractive also..

you could have words, rose through a heart, a music note incorporated with words, stars, japanese writting, wings, zodiac sign, the possibilities are endless..

if u need anymore help, just email me :)

    xo

  3. Some tips: Pick a design that has meaning to you! When you choose a design, print/draw a picture and post it on your mirror and keep it there for like 5 months, that way you see it everyday. If you still like it five months later then get it, never rush to get one!!!

Don't get one on your lower back because it's kind of trampy. On the back of your shoulder would be cute though!

I wouldn't recommend getting a Wiccan tattoo on you. You're at that age where you are finding yourself and your religious beliefs might change along with your personality, personal style, etc.

Definitely do your research on tattoo meanings. You'll find something that represents you or your beliefs!

Good luck finding what you're looking for!

  4. I'm thirteen.

My aunt got a tattoo on the back of her neck and she fell asleep through it.

But, shoulder blade doesn't hurt, I have mine done.

Lower back to me is kind of trashy, but it's all up to you.

But when you get pregnant and you want a C section, you can't get one because of the tattoo on your lower back.

I'm thinking you should get a turtle dove, or peace dove or two kissing.

Possibly a few music notes to your favorite song now,

    so it'll have memories.

But try and make it cute.

I want one on my neck and after i get it done,

within the next week or two. I'll tell you about it.
