Question:

Help with a horrid bath, repairs?

I am moving into a new house and the bath has gone a bit rusty around the plug hole. It would appear to be an enamel coated bath. I wondered if anyone knows if this could be repaired. I don't want to spend a huge amount of money and have seen that you can buy repair kits. Does anyone have experience of these kits? do they work? is it hard work?

  1. bit of a humdinger of a problem. i'd give the repair kit a shot first.

  2. repair kits do a pretty good job but take your time and follow the instructions

  3. Buy a small tin of white enamel paint, and using a small brush similar to a childs painting brush, carefully paint around the plug hole with at least 2 coats of enamel paint. Make sure the surface is completely dry before painting.

  4. YOU have 3 options Get it re-coated professionally,Leave it like it is or try the kit.  If You can't live with it like it is and cant afford a lot of money to get it done what do you have to lose.

As long as you are a little bit handy and follow the instructions  try the Do it yourself way first.
