but i cant make heads or tails of it i was wondering if anyone could help me pinpoint this location

Those coordinates are using the Public Land Survey System.  It breaks the everything down into smaller and smaller squares.  First the State and County so you find which marker it is surveyed off of and the Township coordinate 22 south and Range coordinate 44 west.  Then each Township Range box is divided into 36 smaller boxes, section 6.
