Help with a new lonly tortoise!?

Question

i just got a 1 year old dwarf Hermann's tortoise, but it's used to being around other tortoises in a viv less than half the size of mine. i'm worried cos i haven't seen it eat very much or drink anything. is this normal? will he get over it? is there a way i can make him feel less lonely (i can't afford anouther tortoise) would putting a mirror in there help? he looks so depressed!
