  1. Well, most people will leave the fork on..., as dor the crank, if it is a 3 piece unscrew the nuts on the side of the crankarms, then take a rubber mallet and tap them apart, if it is a 1 piece... your in for some fun... take off the pedals, then unbolt the chainrings, then you have 2 bolt like things on the frame where the crank goes thru it, take these off, then you twist and turn the crank till it comes out,( it pushes thru to the chain side).  Good Luck, if you run into problems, it is cheaper to give up and have your local bike shop take them off, about 5 for the fork and 7 for the crank.

Park tools has some realy good info on bike repair as well as the proper tools.

  3. well for the cranks you need a Crank Puller tool. I think that if you go to a shop they MAY do it for free...be friendly. To get the fork off you have to take off the stem, that's the small piece that holds the handlebars. There are different types, you usually need allen wrenches to pull them off...the sizes vary. Also when pulling out the fork off the frame be sure to remember the order of the O rings within it and how everything was placed. There are bearings in there so careful not to get those dirty.

  4. I don't know how to do this, but check out different fixie conversion websites and you are bound to find your answer.

check out sheldon brown's website. Maybe there's something on there.

    Good luck with the fixie!
