Help with a story for school

Question

My aim is to write a short piece about a beautiful woman who, through the use of manipulation and power relationships etc, has a devastating effect on a man. So far I'm thinking that the woman has aspirations to do something great with her life, but is trapped in a small town. The boy falls for her but has some kind of disability.. the story will have a sad ending, with the man feeling as though he is "ruined".

The problem is.. i just dont know what the girl could do to ruin him!

mayb she has to move states or country's to fulfill her dream but not taking him with her?

Oh, I like the way your mind works! How about this?

The “boy” is actually rather older, a man who is a talented scientist/inventor but who has the disability that he is blind. The woman inveigles her way into his affections, leading him to believe that she is awestruck by his brilliance and that she has fallen in love with him. She starts helping him in his work, doing secretarial functions for him – initially for free, just out of “love”.

As his trust in her gradually grows, he offers her a paid and full-time position as his secretary. This gives her the ability to control his paperwork and finances, of course. Eventually, she has her chance. The man’s researches bear fruit, and he is in a position to lodge a patent for his world-changing invention.

In drawing up the paperwork, she lists herself as the patent-holder instead of him. Trusting her absolutely by now, he signs the papers … and signs away his entire life’s work and future earnings.

With her future now secure, she walks away … to the life of leisure and luxury in the big city she had always wanted. The blind inventor is left penniless and heartbroken.

I wonder what caused you to imagine this idea as the subject for your story. Perhaps you will yourself grow up to be a manipulative femme fatale and inflict this sort of misery on some of us men?!

She could lie to everyone that she told about her boyfriend about.

She could omit telling them about his disability, so when he meets her family or friends, they're all taking aback and they make fun of him quietly or something, or they don't feel he'll fit in with 'their lifestyle'.

Once she's told this by her family, she listens to them, instead of going with her heart.

EDIT: Or, you could turn it in a completely different direction, and write something about them falling completely in love, and then something bad happens to her, and because of his disability, he can't save her. She dies, he feels ruined because he wasn't able to save the one true love in his life.

Have her promise him something great a marriage,ect. Have him fall for her and also have him lose a lot, maybe all of his money, quit his job, move away, just for her  So he will be ruined because he is hurt and also he is broke.

Fall for someone else because they don't have this "disabilty".
