i was elected editor of the schools literary magazine for the next year. the literary magazine is a collection of stories, poems, artwork, and photos submitted by students. i was trying to think of a good theme in bed last night, but none were good enough. up until last yr, the magazine was really emo, cutter, dark, scary. then last yr, the theme was "the box under the bed" and it was more happy and fun. i want to continue with the happy fun thing, but i cant think of anything. the only thing i thought of was "mirror mirror on the wall" but thats gayy. i also thought of pocketful of sunshine but it cant be anything copyrighted. so any ideas anyone?

  1. How about "through the looking glass" as a metaphor for what's on the other side of graduation. I could include speculation on how the writers will change (or stay the same) in to future.

  2. Well, "the box under the bed" is great for keepsakes.  However, if you're looking for something that could be a running theme I'd suggest "Carnivale" (and you could do ALL kinds of great harlequin designs that are very en vogue... thanks Panic At The Disco...).  You could also do a really cool "mystery" theme that suggests that each issue has a puzzle that needs to be solved.  That's a great way to get people excited and discussing their findings with one another.  Go "film noir" or "sleuth" if you don't mind a little dark.  If you want to keep it light think children's detective or Sherlock Holmes.
