Okay, my best friend is going to have her boy in late September and I'm trying to think of a unique baby gift for him. I was thinking of a blanket with his name on it, but I have no idea where to get one of those. His name is Marcus Layne, but I don't know what to get him, that is a little out of the norm. Can anyone give me any ideas?

  1. http://www.shopcreator.com/mall/infopage...

I think these are a fab baby present.  It will take them through their childhood and they look lovely.

We got one each for our childrens christening anf they sit on their windowsills looking great and then every time they get given money it goes in the pot.  What's good too is that the child can't get at the money without breaking the pot and so they won't be spending the money that put it in until it's full.

  2. i would go to a specific web site like the one below.  i searched unique baby boy gifts, and got alot of good sites.  if you dont want to buy online, you can always buy a blanket you like and find some one who embroiders.  sewing shops would be a good place to start.  they usually are full of grandma types that have embroidery mechines.  or maybe even a cork board with names and numbers of people willing to lend out their service.

  3. Personalized gift is always a great idea for new parents / babies. I think I saw the blanket you are looking for in "Things Remembered". When we had our baby last year a family member sent us a personalized baby Frameagram from http://www.frameagram.com we loved it. Good luck.

  4. just google peronalised baby gifts and loads will come up. ebay personalises gifts too.

i got my daughter a pink blanket with a teddy on it, her name and date of birth. im in the UK, i think i got it from personalisedblankets.co.uk. but cant remember. i definately know i just googled it though!

  5. Get him personalized bottles and pacifiers!!!

    Personalize them yourself

    it will make them special

go to an arts store and buy that squeeze writing paint and plain plastic bottles... make stars or hearts... or w/e you feel is perfect!!!

  6. My friend bought wooden letters to spell out my son's name and painted them herself.  You hang the letters up on his nursery wall.

  7. Go to wal mart to get one of those blankets..if you are willing to spend lots of money get him a blanket with a picture of his ultrasound picture on it.

and as for your friend.. takes lots of pictures of her and with her and make her a scrapbook of her pregnancy.

    hope this helps!!

  8. A hand made gift is always welcome.  It also allows you to give something of yourself in the gift.  For instance if you are really into classical music you might make the baby a cd of some of your favorite sonatas, concertos, and arias (you might even slip in a few lullabies you sing yourself).  Another great idea is to spend the next month creating a journal of his parents activities getting ready for him.  Use pictures as well as interviews to create a one of a kind keepsake for little Marcus that will always remind him of how truly welcomed he was!

Your journal can continue right through to his arrival home.
