why does boo radley stay indoors? i remember a passage where scout realizes why he stays indoors (but i can't find it) but WHY does Boo Radley stay inside? it is to escape the realities of the real world?

  3. its because his father's locked him up cause he went mental with scissors and the family is ashamed of him. i think.

  4. Boo Radley stays indoors because he chooses to do so. At first he was kept inside by his father and then his brother. Boo Radley chooses to be shy and not to draw attention to himself. This is why Atticus says that Bob Ewell "tripped on his knife" even though, truly, Boo killed him. Atticus doesnt want to bring Boo out of his comfort zone by telling the whole town that Boo is a hero. To Boo, it would be awful to have the whole town's attention on him.
