What are those black and white sheets called that have all of the approach and airport information on them, ie: runways, runway numbers, radio frequencies, approaches, and etc. Is there a site on the internet where you can get them in PFD form, free? Can someone help me out? An example of a type of them is here: http://i.ehow.com/images/eHows/Steps/Upload/2000003/125_Full.jpg Someone please help me!

  1. Approach Plates.

They are published either by the Jeppesen Corporation or by the Government.  Jepps are used as the industry standard because they are easier to read, but the government plates contain the same information.  They are available for free if you want to print them out.  Or you can buy Jepp plates.

Check out the Gov't plates by typing in any airport here:

    www.airnav.com

  2. Approach plates.  As a member you can get them from AOPA.

  3. approach plates..

    go to www.fltplan.com

at the bottom of the page there is a link labeled "approach charts"

  4. Instrument  approach  procedure  (IAP) charts
