  1. I'm rewriting your equation with parentheses to make it clearer

    (11 - x)/(3x + 2) = 1/2

    Multiply each side by (3x + 2) to get...

    (11 - x) = 1/2*(3x + 2)

    Distribute the 1/2....

    11 - x = 3/2x + 1

    Add x to each side

    11 = 5/2x + 1

    Subtract 1 from each side

    10 = 5/2x

    Divide each side by 5/2

    4 = x

    Checking the original equation

    (11 - 4)/(3*4 + 2) = 1/2

    7/(12 + 2) = 1/2

    7/14 = 1/2

    1/2 = 1/2  CHECK

    The answer is...

    x = 4

  2. 11-x

    ------  =   1/2

    3x+2

    times both sides by 2to get rid of the fraction on the right hand side

    22-2x

    --------  =   2

    6x +4

    times both sides by 6x + 4 to eliminate the fraction on the left hand side

    22 - 2x =  12x + 8

    minus 8 from both sides to try and get x by itself

    14 - 2x = 12x

    minus 2x from both sides to get x on one side of the equation

    14 = 14x

    divide both sides by 14 to get x by itself

    x = 1

  3. Very well,it's easy...just multiply the extremities(like this)

    11-x/3x+2=1/2==>

    3x+2=2(11-x)==>

    3x+2=22-2x==>(we take the -2x from the right side and add 2x to the 3x in the left side due to the opposite sign convention)

    This means==>5x+2=22(subtract)==>5x=20==>x=4

    Excuse but I'm not familiar to explaining math in english...hope this helped
