Help with an English Assignment Please?

OK here is the problem I have to write an essay and it has to be on reasons why I am in an English class. So the essay is why are you taking english. Can any of you please give me some reasons? other then that it is required?

When you get out of school and go to work someday, it's going to be important for you to have good language skills.  It's hard for other people to believe you are very smart or capable if you can't use the English language well.

Most resumes are thrown away if they have spelling or grammatical errors.  When you have to communicate with colleagues someday, they will be more likely to respect your intelligence if you use proper English.  If you can speak and write it properly, you're also more likely to get promotions.

Here are some thoughts:  Having good grammatical skills is going to be important to you throughout your whole life whether you realize it now or not.  The current SAT test has two sections related to English - the writing section and the standard English section.  No matter what your major is in college, you will have alot of papers to write.  And in your career, no matter if you are in accounting or engineering or something else, there will be letters, proposals, recommendations, emails, business plans, etc. to write.  So it's imperative to develop good writing and good grammar skills when you are young.

Obviously to further your education in English.  However, you are there to ensure that you continue to understand the building blocks for one of the most powerful languages a human can understand.
