Help with an English Extended Essay Please!?!?

Question

I have to write an English essay on friendships within novels, and I need to know what main points should be covered.

I have already decided to discuss how the relationship develops the characters and what the friendship adds to the plot and theme of the novel. Also,I need four or five books, and so far "The Kite Runner" and "Of Mice and Men" are the only two I have thought of to write about.

It is a very long essay, so I need two or three more books, and several more points of discussion. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Probably the most famous exploration of loyalty and friendship for me would be that of Sam and Frodo in Lord of the rings. The advantage for you would be you could watch the films if you havnt already done so without ploughing through the books as the films are quite faithfull to the original.
