-----write and solve------- an inequality that represents the various distances that you could travel in 2.5 hours if your maximum speed was 135 miles per hour during this time period? Thanks 10 Points best answer :D

    You know the old saying:

    Distance equals Speed times Time

    Well in this case your time is 2.5 hours

    Your speed (S) is anywhere from 0 miles per hour to 135 miles per hour.

    So multiply the maximum speed times the time:

    2.5 hours times 135 mph is 337.5 miles

    so S is less than or equal to 337.5 miles:

    S ≤ 337.5 miles


  2. If your maximum speed is 135mph, then the most you could go is 337.5miles.  So the inequality would read

    D =< 135miles

    where D = distance traveled

    (All you have to do is multiply your speed by number of hrs)
