Help with audio car troubles?

I am going to buy some new speakers for my car i am replacing the front door speakers one in each side i am most likley going to get some alpines here are the specs 4 Ohm peak power handling 300 Watts RMS power range of 100 Watts and sensitivity of 87dB i am running them straight of the head unit wich is a dual 4x55 Watt Peak power and a RMS of 4x22 Watts should i run an amp for these speakers i dont want to unless they sound like complete p**p but if i did what would i need

Your head unit will not over drive the Alpines, but you will only get 22 W of power so the volume will not be much louder than OEM speakers, they will sound better though.  I have had many Alpine sets over the years and have used them in doors.     The doors are generally not a good place for high power anyway since there is little air space and many little parts to vibrate and rattle. I had a 100 W amp powering door speakers once and had to dial the gain way down due to incidental noise created by the extra power
