  1. so anyways. how old is the chick? is it the day old chicks?

90 Degrees- for one week old chicks.

    85- 2 week

    80- 3 week

and all the way untill it's room temperature and u dont need anymore heating.

  2. A heat source can be achieved by use  of a simple shop clamp , or any kind of lamp with a shield to contain the light to bottom of container to hit the floor where peeps are. This should be adjusted to maintain a 95 degrees temp at all times If these are peeps. Then raise a tad every week for first 5 weeks, so bottom will be lowered by 5 degrees or lower wattage this will give same effect. The container does not need to be same temperature all around, SHOULD NOT BE!! all the same. The peeps need space to escape from the heat as well. They will do this if get to warm/hot If cant escape the heat they will die.

Peeps will lay in a ring around the circle of light and get exactly the amount of heat they need.If there peeping loudly they are cold, If laying to one side of light there is a draft, If at end of container  as far away from heat source as they can go they are to hot If to hot this will kill your peeps for sure.Too cold they will tell you loudly. Best thing is to  worry  you have to much not that you don't have enough.

On the heat you never said if they were peeps or not if not you will have to judge for your self on how much heat you need since as they grow they need less and when start to get feathers its even less so best thing to do is set your peeps up and pay close attention to there behavior's to determine the way you have to adjust your heat for the babies.P.S> make sure the peeps have water all the time and growing mash since they eat and drink all the time.
