Help with ball python heat and lamp?

i am gong to the pets store and get a ball python and...

i have a ??

i have about 90$

balll python cost 70$

under heat tank cost 18.98

Light Fixture with bult cost 19.98

i need one of the UHT and LIGHT ..

so whats more important a UHT or LIGHT...10 pnts peoplz

The undertank heater is more important.

But you'll need more than just a snake and heat, you'll also need hides, a water bowl, substrate, food, temperature gauges, a home.

I hope you're researching before buying.

Ball pythons don't need light they are nocturnal! they get sufficient light from your ceiling light and day light! the poster below makes alot of sense please ensure that you have these things to ensure a happy chilled out snake!

i use a 100 watt light in my glass 55 gal and a  150 watt in my wood 120 gal and it keeps my heat right. but might i suggest you look other places if you are going to buy a ball python like craigslist.com or your local flea marked you can typically pick one up for under 50 or even free like i got mine. which leaves alot more money for tank and all the equipment

The under tank heater is VERY important. Ball pythons are nocturnal. They do not need any UV lighting whatsoever. I have my ball python in a 40 gallon with an undertank heater, and that is all that is necessary. The UTH is all you need for a heat supply. I hope this helps.

You should really not buy a ball python until you have everything you need.  Have you taken into account his food?  What about his tank?  Substrate?  Hiding places?

You're going to need at LEAST a couple hundred dollars worth of stuff before you go out and buy a snake.

I say the light - it will still provide the heat necessary and also gives the snake a day-night schedule.

But you shouldn't get a snake if you're on such a limited budget. You still have to buy it's food, and what if it gets sick? You have to have extra money for a vet visit just in case.
