I'm 5'3" 110 and I'm 14 and I'm not sure whether I should convert to a pitcher, I practice pitching alot but I haven't pitched in a real game, my fastball is from 53-58 mph and I'm learning how to throw a curve ball. I'm a decant hitter and I'm really fast but I think I would have more success as a pitcher. What should I do???

  1. Unless you grow another 9 or 10 inches forget pitching.  Height really helps a pitcher.  Judging from your size a middle infield position is probably  best for you.

  2. you are young...try everything!  you will never know if you are good unless you give it a try!

  3. pitchers are always in demand.....

    however 5' 8 " pitchers don't get schlarhips........

2nd, 3rd or of if you are really fast

  4. Do both, right now you should focus on being an overall athlete. You do not have to decide until someone makes you and that someone would be a major league club. Lots of guys get drafted every year who can play several positions, but are selected for one in particular. This is good for teams because now they have another spot to place their draft pick should one of the positions not work out.

I have created a website service that is adding information daily about baseball and techniques and best practices. I suggest you take a look at the article on "Fielding" at http://theprospect09.googlepages.com and feel free to email me with any questions at theprospect09@gmail.com. This is a professional service that I provide for the public so that we can educate kids just like you who are trying to pursure their dreams. Good luck and hope to hear from you.

  5. You should deff pitch but be careful with your arm. You have to take very good care of it. But i also recomend an additional position as back up. Good luck sweetie

  6. dont switch 2 a pitcher focus on hitting ur 14 u will get pwnd if u only throw 50

  7. are you telling me that they have the DH rule in pony league now? if you want to pitch, pitch...but (unless im mistaken) you still get to hit. so you could do both, and if it doesnt work at as a pitcher, you still can hit

  8. You are too young to mess with curveballs.  Work on your fielding and hitting skills,

  9. Go ahead if you think you can make it =D

  10. if you believe in yourself give it a shot. couldn't hurt.

  11. are you kidding me? 53-58, ha, don't get me started.
