Help with birth control?

Hey. I started my period today and I also started my very first pack of birth control. Will my period end sooner than usual? Will it be heavier or lighter? I am using Tri-cyclen Lo 21 pills in each pack. What can I expect? I am going to a wedding this weekend its a 20 hour drive. I leave Wednesday I want to know what I will feel like! Thanks in advance.

Because you have just started using the pill and your body won't have had time to adjust to the new medication, your period will probably be pretty typical in terms of duration and flow. Also, you shouldn't feel much different than you normally do at this point in your cycle.
