Help with blackberry world edition?

Question

all ring tones are pretty quiet when i get a call ..but when i play them by themselves when i go to my ring tones they're real loud. phone is on loud and the songs are all turned up. is it the phone? or something else i need to do?

I have seen this issue with the 8830, espcially from Verizon. Upgrading to the latest operating system is the first thing to try.
