if i dye my hair using that last dye, will my roots be a completely different color, being as they are virgin?

i dont know if i trust any salons anymore because they turned my hair green last year. i also dont think i want the whole highlighted look again. HELP! thank you!

  1. Ah! Trust me I have been through all of that before!! I absolutely love dark brown hair but have dirty blonde hair naturally. Well I used to dye my hair dark brown but had the opposite brown of you my ashy blonde roots totally stood out every 4 weeks and I would have to get my hair done again! I decided financially to just go closer to my natural hair color, which is now what I suggest to everyone. It is much better for your hair and tends to look better on you if you stay within 3 shades of your natural hair color. That being said, you probably will still want to go light blonde even though most people will suggest against it. So I recommend not going so light because when dying brown hair blonde there will always be tone issues, where it will turn orangy or copper- the reason your hair turned green was probably a reaction with the hair color to chlorine or some other chemicals.

Find a nice salon, when I did the switch from dk brown to blonde I had a consultation with my stylist first and she informed me it usually takes a few steps depending on how dark your hair is. I spent $150 on my hair but it was definitely worth the money, don't go to cost cutters find somewhere recommended highly where they know what they are doing. They will use toners to make sure your hair is tinted funny colors and will be honest with you about what you realistically can do with your hair. Also since you are totally frying your hair you need to start using a protein shampoo like Redken Extreme and a biweekly deep conditioning treatment.

  2. Go to the salon to get it bleached platinum, I just recently did and the results were great! Just make sure you go to a salon that is different then the salon that turned your hair green. Possibly ask your friends, family, etc. where they get their hair done or ask if they recommend any good places for hair coloring. It would be hard to do the dye job yourself as to get all of the color even and the SAME colour, it would take some work and it would be better if you know what you're doing. You'd have to keep the dye on your roots for longer as the colour is darker then the rest of your hair, it would also turn out brassy which is another problem you'll run into. You'll most likely need a good toner along with the hair dye, one such as 'Shimmer Lights'. Hope I've helped and good luck!

  3. if you do that yourself you need to put the bleach on your predyed hair first its goin to take longer to turn and then your roots shouldnt take long at all. ogood luck with that. i love to dye hair !!

  4. i'd go with dying it ALL the blondest blonde.

and use a lifter to lighten it MORE before.
