I just got diagnosed with BPD while I was in boot camp, and I am getting married in October. What can I do to make this work?

  1. You need to go to therapy, not only with meds but with "dialectical behavior therapy". Find a group or a therapist who can help you. Your marriage is not very likely to succeed as people with your condition, tend to externalize guilt, love one day and hate the next, black and white situation and not to mention the paranoia. My advice, follow the therapy and really get some insight of your condition. Good luck

  2. There is a forensic psychiatrist (Dr. Bob Johnson) who believes that BPD is curable if it can be treated early enough....

Check out this video because he is on it... "Too Late for Kate - BPD - Borderline Personality Disorder "

Dr Johnson's theory on BPD is where we transfer innocent strategies from childhood into adulthood and then close the lid on the box.  Then we take those strategies into adulthood where they no longer work.  Now youre an adult and Im an adult as a psychiatrist lets take a look back in the past and whatever happened we can now change the strategies.
