  1. boxing is more for muscles while kickboxing is more for cardio. If you want to look good go for boxing. If you want to look average but have a healthy heart go for kickboxing

  2. Im 12 at the moment.. and i started boxing 2 months ago.. I made an awesome decision! For me, Id rather box.. I found my awesome gym at boxinggyms.com

  3. I think boxing is awesome...it takes true dedication and training. A lot of training. It's a very disciplined sport. I don't like kick boxing. I'm old school. Nothing like a good boxing match...train, train, train. Get involved in a local boxing club. Good Luck! See you at the Golden Gloves - perhaps the Olympics?

  4. Choose the one which has most media attention, you will get more respect, more fame, more money. Also if you do ever turn pro, sing with oscar de la hoya because his promtion are the most famous and you will get a shot at the title in no time if you don't even have the best potential.

  5. At 13 I think you need to work on your girls skills first. Kick boxing is great at your age because it builds the lower body.

Also the feet are a great weapon. First learn to get out of a fight.

Never pick one but always finish it.

  6. I just joined muay thai kickboxing and I love it!!! it has boxing mixed with some martial arts in it. You kick a lot which is very powerful in a fight. Kick boxing will train you to be a awesome fighter, it will give you an advantage when fighting with someone who just knows how to punch.

  7. It depends on a number of things like, are you looking for the toughest work out or for a defence aspect and which clubs are local to you.A great boxing club would be more beneficial than a c**p kickboxing club.If you have good kickboxing and boxing clubs local then my opinion would be do both if you can afford it  and decide which one suits you as you maybe great with your hands and not so great with your feet so there for would be better at boxing but if you can't afford both then take up kickboxing i have done both sports for over 20 years and love them both equally if you take up kickboxing and find you are not very good with your feet then can go to boxing with some boxing skills if you don't try the kickboxing you will never know how good you could've been and would be limited on your defence so if i could've only done one it would've been the kickboxing because even if i wasn't good with my feet i would've still learnt to box as well as other useful things and i believe the philosophy behind martial arts makes you a more all around balanced character its great try it. GOOD LUCK

  8. Either. They're both good sports but with kickboxing you'll be well equipped to defend yourself if you were attacked and with minimum effort.Attackers are far more wary of a kickboxer but might consider able to take you on in a fist fight.

If you choose kickboxing ensure the club is tight on safety.

  9. boxing limits you to using just your fists and the upper half of the body. Kickboxing is alot more varied, better in self-defence situations (because you learn more moves and angles) and also gives you a full body workout.

No question really. I took kickboxing lessons and enjoyed them thoroughly. Go for it!

  10. The first question you have to ask yourself is why you want to take up either.

If you are looking for sport they are both equally good!

If you have a lot of upper body strength and are not too flexible in the hip area then boxing should be your choice.

You will benifit from the the training in both case, however Boxing is limited to knuckle strikes, where as Kick boxing uses much more, the training in both is intensive and you could even consider doing both, as they a complementary.

Injuries in intensive sparing in kick boxing are more common and often concerns the shins, shin clashes can be very painfull, but you will get used to it!
