Help with building a guitar?

ok so i ripped apart a crappy encore beginners guitar

the pickups are really cheapy and c**p

the neck is fine and the body is good as well

so i gave it the eddie van halen white and black franken strat

paintjob i bought a flyod rose tremlo copy and Wilkinson single coil pickups do i need to upgrade the pots for the pickups i fixed it up for my brother he want to learn guitar

also does anyone know where i could get a maple unfinished neck 3/4

why not just buy your own

You do not need to upgrade the pots unless they are 'noisy', ie. make a noise when you turn them.

I wonder why this was worthy of a thumbs down. What is it with some people?
