Question:

Help with buying a digital tv recorder?

I'm sorry for asking what seems to be a very basic question, but what exactly does a digital tv recorder box include? I have been living in Ireland for the last 5 years, so have missed the introduction of freeview. I will be relocating back to the UK in a couple of weeks, and noticed that on eg argos it doesn't say whether the recording box includes the freeview receiver.

Again, sorry for being so silly! Any help with this would be appreciated, Thanks!

  1. I think it does.  You just need a scat lead.  Mine was £30 from Asda and i can get all the digital channels.

  2. A digital TV recorder does what it says on the tin, lets you record digital TV usually to a hard drive.

A digibox or receiver will just let you watch digital channels.

You do need a decent aerial for it to work though.

Any decent TV should now include digital as standard.

Have a look on www.freeview.co.uk for more info.
