It is for a little girl, who wants bright bold colors in pink, purple and blue. I have taken some classes and can do pretty much whatever I see, it just been awhile since I've done a cake.

  1. A colorful fish would be cute.  Or make two round cakes and cut one for ears and bow tie, and use other one for head and make a bunny or a bear or a cat.

  2. make elmo purple eyes blue mouth pink

  3. well my mom is a cake decorater so i have been watching her and if you have a air brush machien that works good and if you cant think of anything watch the television show and if you see something good do the cake like it good luck

  4. My mum made a really cool cake for me it was a barbie doll cake. The bottom of the dress was a cake and she placed a barbie inside.

  5. When my daughters were little, I did Ernie & Bert cakes in a pyrex mixing bowl.  Use a denser cake batter (pound cake, banana bread, etc).  Then you could cover it with red frosting (get the little paste food coloring at Michael's, etc for vibrant color);  with a butter knife you can lightly pull it into "hair" all over.  You could use Oreos or big chocolate wafers for eyes, and decorate with white frosting.   I can't remember if he has ears:)  If so, stick some sturdy round cookies in the cake and frost them too....  Pipe designs on it - maybe a bowtie in pink & purple polka dots:).....  I also used a pyrex mixing bowl to do "princess" cakes for them; and stuck a doll torso in the top, using piped icing as the top of the dress:) ....

  6. decorate the cake with jelly beans. they come in all colors and kids love them. and make a game of it after the cake has cooled and before the icing take a jelly bean and poke it into a piece of the cake and then put the icing on and decorate and make a game of whoever gets the piece with the jelly bean inside wins a small prize to take home with them.

  7. Make an elmo cake with those colors she wants as background colors. (you can put streamers or flowers or something behind elmo)

  8. http://uk.images.search.yahoo.com/search...

    loads of colourful ideas here

  9. I love to go on google and look at cakes to get ideas.  I would type in ELMO CAKE in google and then click on images.  Remember you can imitate what others have done and change the colors to your personal needs.

I love fondant cakes so I would do a fondant cake, maybe two tiers, with a toy elmo as the topper (or if you're feeling creatiive, make Elmo out of fondant).  The bottom tier can be pink fondant with purple circles like polka dots, the top can be blue fondant.  Maybe make puffy fondant number 2s to go on the blue tier.

Another option, especially for a two year old, is to do a cupcake cake, where you make cupcakes and then set them all tight in close to each other, then frost and decorate as if one cake.  You can make just about any shape; I'm sure an Elmo head would be a simple enough shape.  When it's time to serve they just pull apart.

Below is a good website for marshmallow fondant which is cheaper, tastier, and easier to make than traditional fondant.
