  1. Is it a MiniDV camcorder?  If so, and maybe even if not... it uses DV video.. which is an industry standard... as such it should work on any computer with use of a firewire (IEEE 1394)cable.  Obviously you need a firewire port on your computer as well... most newer computers will have one built in.  Other then that.. all you need is some capture software. Some might come with your camcorder and if not, Windows Movie Maker (found in Windows ME or later I think) will work just fine.

Honestly, outside of things bought at the Apple store, there's very little that will work on an Apple that will not work on a PC. It's normally the other way around. Most people make stuff for the PC, particularly when it comes to hardware.

If your computer does not have a firewire port, you can buy a PCI firewire card for under $30.

  2. is it a JVC? if it is, then you cant unless you got a applience

  3. IEEE 1394 is Firewire. Firewire is more like a faster and more advanced version of USB 2,0. Firewire is available on PC's and Macs and notebooks. However, to connnect the camera  you will need to have a firewire port. These are simple to install and inexpensive. Check your computer manual for more details.
