Question:

Help with camera shopping?

I recently had my camera stolen at a local theme park, so I'm currently shopping for a new one. My last two cameras (including the stolen one) were Sony Cybershots, and I wasn't too fond of either. The first broke when a friend of mine dropped it once, and that was the only time it had been dropped, and the second's flash randomly stopped working the second day I had it. If any of you have any suggestions of a camera with good quality, and multiple settings, and preferably a video setting, within a reasonable price range, please let me know.

  1. There are a lot of good digital cameras, and even more piece of junk cameras.  Which one you want depends on your priorities.  For example, the Canon Powershot TX1 is awesome for videos.  It shoots video at 1280 by 720 at 30 frames per second, which is way above average for a compact digital camera.  It also has a time lapse mode and a 10X optical zoom.  On the other hand, it has a small (1/2.5") sensor so it might not be so good at low light photography.  It has a manual mode, but I haven't used it so I can't tell you if it's what you want.

  2. Whatever you thing i will tell you one thing.Don't waste your money and  get a Canon G9.Why.Just buy it and you will see.

  3. I'm not familiar with the Sony Cybershot. I have a Kodak Easy Share Z710 and it takes amazing pictures. I paid under $300 for it, and Amazon has it for around $250. I actually have some pics at Amazon, on page 7-8, for this camera. It has a video mode which will take long videos, but unless you're going to burn them on CD/DVD to share, I recommend short ones. After two years, I'm still quite happy with it, but I can say that it takes better pictures from 40 feet away than up close! I have some amazing shots from 20 miles away.
