  1. My step-son gets cankers all the time and no matter what they are painful. Sometimes the sores are so big that he can barely talk. He uses a dilute solution of warm salt water so that it is healing without the initial stinging.

For the life of me I can't figure out why there isn't a better solution than salt water and numbing gel?

I think that the sores are caused or rather brought on by stress. I would suggest taking a good B vitamin complex to help your body's immune system deal with stress.

  2. I never heard about the salt trick, I think that would hurt. but I also see how it could help heal it faster.

    but you could use oragel.

  3. put salt on it it will hurt at first but it heals it. also if avaliable you can get oragel and it numbs it

  4. Canker sores can be caused by a lot of different things.  Here is an especially useful web site.  http://www.animated-teeth.com/canker_sor...   Just copy and paste it into your web browser.  One solution to help them heal would be to rinse with a prescription called peridex, but it does stain your teeth.  Another option would be something called debacterol.  Debacterol is used topically and does hurt for a few seconds when it is apples but helps speed up the healing process.  Both peridex and debacterol are prescriptions.
