Help with carp fishing please?

Carp to 8 1/2lb, Ghost Carp to 7lb, Tench to 2 1/2lb, Roach to 1lb, Rudd to 1lb. Also in abundance are Crucians, Perch to 2 1/2 lb, Bream, Chub and Gudgeon

these are the fish that dwell within a lake near my house i was wondering can i catch an 8 1/2 carp on a 4lb-6lb spin cast monofilament line
