Question:

Help with changing my belly button bar for the first time? please?

I have the standard curved bar in at the moment, the one with the jewel which is really pretty. But my mum just gave me a new bar and I was wonderin what pre cautions I need to take before I get it in.

I have sensitive skin, so the last thing I want is for it to get infected. Do I soak the bar in something before I put the bar in?? What is the best thing to do? thanks

  1. sterilize the bar before you put it in and  use alcohol  or sea salt and boiled water and slowly remove your old bar and clean your navel (when you have taken the other bar out) and slowly  put the other bar in.

your navel may go red and sore for a while but just jeep cleaning it until its clear and no more redness.

    hope this helps x

  2. yeah, ive had this problem.

you should really go to a piercer, or the place where you got it done.

i went back to the piercer and he put it in for me, and checked it was the proper metal.

  3. you know the stuff you use to clean cuts with ? ... clean the bar with that and around were its pierced before applying it. or if when you got it down the guy gave you some sort of liquid to clean it will daily then use that. just make sure you clean it. very important

  4. Just do it. clean it then put it in and keep putting alcohol on it.

  5. Hi

The first time that I changed mine, I sprayed it with the stuff that I had been using to clean my navel when I first had it pierced.  It is also advisable to wash the bar with hot water before you put it in.

    Hope this helps :)

  6. take it out really slowly and carefully don't just yank it out

i like to use a lot of alcohol so it can't get infected.

and just put the other bar in slowly and carefully again. =)

    theres really nothing to it
