  1. a) A cube of osmium metal 1.500 cm on a side has a mass of 76.31 g at 25C. What is its density in g/cm^3 at this temperature?

    find volume :

    (1.500cm)^3 = 3.375 cc

    find density:

    76.31g / 3.375 cc =

    your answer: 22.61 g / cm3

    (b) The density of titanium metal is 4.51 g/cm^3 at 25C. What mass of titanium displaces 65.8 mL of water at 25C?

65.8 ml is the same as 65.8 cm3

    65.8cm3 @ 4.51 g/cm3 = 296.76 grams

your answer is 297 grams of titanium

    (c) The density of benzene at 15C is 0.8787 g/mL. Calculate the mass of 0.1500 L of benzene at this temperature

0.1500 litres is the same as 1500. ml

    1500. ml @ 0.8787 grams / ml  =

    your answer: 1318 grams
