Why should the chemist take particular care that the thermometer bulb is directly opposite the stillhead side arm during a distillation?

In distillation, would increasing the heating rate affect the boiling point? Why?Explain in terms of vapour pressure and the pressure of the laboratory.

for the 2nd one.... no.... cause ull only reach the point faster,,, the bp is a constant fr the substance

1 st one maybe cause otherwise the mercury would go up very fast
