I especially need help with the top line, shoulders, and tail head. Any resources or tips would be great.

  1. Clip all show cattle. Clip the face

back to the point of the jaw. Do not

clip the ears, eyelashes or hair on the

nose. A good plan is to clip over the

poll as far back as the halter, which

will be about 2 inches hack of the poll

    and ears

    Tail

  2. Clip the hair about two weeks before the

show. This will give the hair an opportunity

to regain its natural appearance by show

    time.

    Tail

    1. Clip from the break

in the twist to the tail-head. Clip in

such a manner that the tail will blend

in smoothly with the rest of the body.

Avoid a noticeable break. If the

tail-head is low, do not clip; if the

tail-head is high, clip to bring it level

    with the top line.

This hand book will help you with the clipping as well as all aspects of raising the show calf.  Best of luck
